Our outdoor adventure programs for girls ages 12-18 provide engaging and supportive experiences to explore, grow, and lead—and they’re 100% free of charge for participants.
SUP & Stewardship Adventure | WHI x IRS & IRU
Ages 12-14.
Join us for a fun and confidence-boosting Intro to Stand-Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) and Stewardship Adventure, perfect for beginners or anyone looking to improve their skills on the water. Idaho River Sports will teach paddle boarding basics like balance, paddling, and water safety before we team up with Idaho Rivers United for a Boise River clean-up and stewardship experience.
Stewardship & SUP Adventure | WHI x IRS & IRU
Ages 15-18.
Join us for a fun Stewardship + Stand-Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) Adventure for high school girls, where we’ll start with Idaho Rivers United learning about river stewardship and giving back through a Boise River clean-up. Then Idaho River Sports will teach the basics of paddle boarding so you can build confidence, learn new skills, and have fun on the water with all gear provided and no experience needed.
Payette River Rafting Adventure
Ages 12-14.

High school adventurers—this one's for you! Take on the thrilling Class III rapids of the Payette River with Wild Hearts and Cascade Raft.
Alpine Fly Fishing Adventure | WHI x WFFI
Ages 12-14.
Join us for a hands-on introduction to fly fishing with Idaho Women’s Fly Fishing! You’ll learn the basics of casting, entomology, and reading the water—all while having a blast camping alpine lakeside with other adventurous girls at Horsetheif Reservoir.
Outdoor Rock Climbing & Guiding Adventure | WHI x IMG
Ages 15-18.
Get ready for an epic weekend of adventure and confidence-building at the Thinking Spot in McCall with Idaho Mountain Guides, where you’ll challenge yourself through outdoor rock climbing in a stunning canyon setting. With professional guides leading the way, you’ll learn climbing and safety skills, discover what it takes to become a guide, support your teammates, and leave feeling strong, inspired, and empowered.
Backpacking 101 Adventure
Ages 12-14.
Ready to take your first steps into the world of backpacking? Join us for a beginner-friendly two night adventure just outside of McCall! We’ll cover backpacking basics while exploring stunning alpine lakes.
Lower Salmon River Rafting Adventure | WHI x WSE

Ready to take on the rapids? Join Wild Hearts and Wild Science Explorers for an unforgettable and educational multi-day whitewater adventure on the Salmon River!
Backpacking Skills Series
Ages 15-18.
Join us for the Wild Hearts Backpacking Skills Series, an immersive experience designed to teach you how to plan, prepare, and lead like a professional backcountry guide—from trip logistics and packing systems to risk management and group leadership. From Friday through Sunday, you’ll take these skills onto the trail, practicing real guide roles while building confidence, technical skills, and the leadership mindset needed for future guiding and outdoor adventures.
Backpacking 201 Adventure

Ready to take your backpacking skills to the next level? Backpacking 102 is your chance to head out on another awesome multi-day adventure!
Leadership Summit | WHI x Open Hearts Space
Ages 15-18.
Join us this summer for the Open Hearts Space x Leadership Summit, an immersive weekend designed to help young women build confidence, connection, and leadership through outdoor adventure in the spirit of the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. Through equine coaching, camp life, group challenges, reflection, and hands-on outdoor skills, participants will develop practical leadership tools while discovering their unique strengths in a fun and supportive environment. More than a trip, this summit is an opportunity to build lasting friendships, grow in confidence, and return home empowered to lead in school, community, and life.

Interested in a fun outdoor skills day filled with hands-on learning, new friends, and adventure? Join us for the Outdoor Skills Field Adventure where we’ll learn essential skills like packing a backpack and using a camp stove while building confidence outside through games and team challenges, whether you’re brand new to the outdoors or looking to sharpen your skills.
