Backpacking 101 Adventure
Ages 15-18.
Join us for the Wild Hearts Backpacking 101, a hands-on adventure designed to teach you everything you need to confidently head into the backcountry with a pack on you back!
We’ll take these skills onto the trail, learning how to set up and manage a campsite, group travel and pacing, cook efficiently for a team, purify water, manage risk, and make decisions in real time—all while practicing clear communication and leadership. Along the way, you’ll also train in essential skills like Leave No Trace, backcountry hygiene, food storage and how to thrive in a safe, supportive, and well-run group experience.

Trip Deposit
Please pay the 100% refundable deposit that will finalize your spot on this trip. *Registration is not complete without the full trip payment being received.
The deposit will be returned to you after completion of the adventure unless you select to donate it. If there is any reason you cannot pay the deposit, please contact the Programs Coordinator.
If this deposit is sold out, the trip has filled. Regardless, you are welcome to register to be placed on the waitlist and, later, notified if a spot becomes available.
Cancelation Policy
Please notify Wild Hearts within 72 hours of registering or 2 weeks prior to the adventure (whichever is first) if you will not be able to attend the adventure. This allows time to open the spot for another participant to join.
Cancelations made outside of the cancelation policy window will not be eligible for a trip deposit refund.
